Srilankan Airlines, the national airline of SriLankan founded in 1979, has been a member of the Oneworld alliance since May 2014, as the only airline in the Indian subcontinent. This means that travelers can not only benefit from a global network but also earn and redeem miles with all Oneworld airlines via the SriLankan Airlines loyalty program "FlySmiles". Currently, SriLankan Airlines flies three times a week (Tue, Fri, Sun) non-stop from Frankfurt to Colombo. Thanks to the perfectly coordinated connections, onward travel is also possible to the Maldives.
